Unafraid of Toil
In ancient Pagan and Celtic lore the physical is represented by the element of Earth and the direction, North. Physical as in solid and steady, as in touch. Hufflepuffs represent Earth. They are the backbone and the rock of Hogwarts. Their hard work like the crunching feet on gravel, their loyalty as loud as the coyotes' and wolfs' howls in the night.
