    The Third Task, 5:12pm

‘Can you see him?’ You said, desperately trying to peer over the many heads and flags in front of you. Neville was attempting the same too, his ‘Go, Harry!’ shirt getting caught on a nail in the bench and pulling him back down. You’d opted to buy the ‘Harry and Cedric!’ pin that George had made, and it clutched to your Quidditch jumper quite nicely.
‘I wish we could see him. Oh - do you think he’s alright?’ You spluttered quickly. Neville nodded, enthusiastically. You sunk back down again, and Neville offered you a Fizzing Whizbee. You uttered a ‘thanks’, with a small smile.
‘Don’t worry,’ his voice tiny in the crowds cheers, ‘he’ll be with Cedric and that. Expect Batman’s probably giving him a few tips, as well.’ You wondered whether to tell Neville about your suspicions.
‘Do you think Bagman’s a bit sketchy?’ You tried, but the cheers now erupted as Krum walked onto the pitch.
‘What?’ He shouted back. You shook your head and mouthed that it didn’t matter. The maze before you stood at least twenty feet tall, a foresty green and a dark, square enterance in the front centre. It was dusk; the sky was slowly darkening and there was a stormy smell that undermined the stench of hot churros and burgers. Another eruption of applause signalled Harry’s enterance onto the pitch, accompanied by Diggory and Delacour. All four champions were now standing facing the dark maze. You couldn’t shake the feeling in the pit of your stomach that something felt off. Perhaps you’d been spending too much time on Divination homework.
‘Here we go.’ You said, nervously.
