The Hogwarts Castle Library
A warning from Madam Pince: "If you rip, tear, shred, bend, fold, deface, disfigure, smear, smudge, throw, drop, or in any other manner damage, mistreat, or show lack of respect towards these books, the consequences will be as awful as it it within my power to make them."
The library is an academic resource of Hogwarts castle where students may complete homework assignments, and use research books to supplement their studies or for personal enjoyment. Be warned, these library books have various spells on them to prevent students from defacing or stealing them, all of which is standard practice.
Chocolate and other food is strictly forbidden in the library, as is talking, laughter, whispers, or sneezing. Please return to your Common Rooms to partake in any of these activities.
The Restricted Section, located at the back of the library, is identified with a rope that separates these books from the rest. Students interested in checking out a book from the Restricted Section are required to have a signed note from a professor to be checked out.
The library closes at 8:00 pm.
