Slythrn Cmmn Rm - Homesick
The slow ticking of the clock echoes as the night grows deeper. After a restless roll-about in bed, you decide to pad down to the Common Room to clear your head. Only a few students stay seemingly attached to their seats. A whiff of coffee seduces you into an anxiety-induced marathon of not sleeping, but you remain firm in your attempts to get some rest.
Planting yourself into an old armchair, you let your leaden head rest in a comfortable position and just... listen. The mermaid songs seem to resonate even more deeply during the wee hours and something about them reminds you of home. Hiraeth has its fingers wrapped around your soul, and the faint tinkling of metal against porcelain alerts you of a madman making more coffee at this hour. Even this sound turns into nothing but a dull chime in an orchestral symphony of calmness.
Slowly, you drift off to sleep, having sweeter dreams.
