slytherin common room 1940s
hi, i'm a fifth year student at hogwarts and my house is slytherin. i'm studying in my common room, at the table next to the window that looks out on the black lake's depths, while my fellow students are singing and exercising for the annual christmas carol. if i focus enough, i can hear mermaids calling to one another. maxwell nott, one of my best friends, arrives and sits next to me, conjuring my favourite raspberry tea, and starts writing his essay. my boyfriend, icarus lestrange, comes in the common room with our friends renold rosier and nicholas avery, laughing about some prank they pulled on the old divination professor. soon enough, they settle down and i help icarus with finishing his essay, while he lightly teases me putting his hand on my thigh. abraxas malfoy storms in, complaining about our quidditch practice being cancelled for the bad weather and about him not completing his duties as captain if we can't practice. then, elladora selwyn comes down from our shared dorm, sitting in nicholas' lap and whispering to him about a new fatal potion she brewed. tom riddle arrives lastly, from patrolling as a prefect, and sits down with the rest of us. i am really grateful of having friends like them, and i cannot put into words how much i love each and every single slytherin i'm seated with. we finally all are together: the infamous knights of walpurgis.
