Ravenclaw Tower, Xmas Morning
Across the common room, food and drink were eagerly handed out, muggle-born students passing around more traditional drinks to the inquisitive, intrigued by the stationary images and laughing at poor puns. Occasionally a Butterbeer bottle was accidentally kicked under sofas where jumper-clad first-years lounged happily, basking in the warmth. One or two flicked through new tomes, a group huddled near the tree hung with bronze and blue, mischievously grinning over pages of Latin; spell casting had suddenly become a lot more dangerous. Somehow one of them had got hold of a record - after a heated exchange with Filch convincing him it really wasn't yet another Fanged Frisbee, one of the older students had managed to get it running on a gramophone idly turning its own handle. They had to find a way of running electronic devices around the school grounds sometime. For the moment however, most were content tearing open wrapping paper and flinging it into the fireplace, whilst snow drifted across the arched window frames until the bell summoned them to the Great hall.
