Rad Ravenclaw Common Room
Opting out from joining the weekly Hogsmeade visit, you quietly make your way down to the common room with your journal and quill, delighted to finally have a relatively quiet shared dormitory. As a Ravenclaw, of course, you don't mind the noise of excitable students debating and exchanging information over homework and lecture notes, but that's not exactly the kind of environment for writing, isn't it? To find the common room almost empty for the weekend gave you an extra pep to your walk, knowing that you will get some writing done.
With an air of purpose and urgency, you walk past your other housemates and settled for a desk that was bathed in warm natural light from the outside. Fresh air swept through one of the windows, blowing your face with the scent of spring. You smile to yourself as you take a seat, resting your head against the soft backrest. You notice your breathing slow down into a nice steady pace, as you absorb the cacophony of sounds from below the Ravenclaw Tower and your common room. Some of the students with you there were mostly doing their own thing. In the middle of the room was a boy in his fourth year sat alone on the carpeted floor, shuffling away his tarot cards with accuracy and deep thought. Nearby was an older student flipping through her music sheet and practicing with her violin. A group of younger students was in another area sketching and painting portraits of each other, quietly and studying each other's works. It was not exactly silence, but enough to keep you awake and inspired to let the words flow from your heart and mind and onto your journal.
With a content sigh, you pull yourself up to unscrew the bottle of ink on your desk while your mind started to pool around words that you have been keeping all week. While you are busy getting down to business, you catch from the corner of your eye the school elf you've befriended since you were a first-year student. She knows all about your keen interest in writing, and have been a witness to your many emotions while you pour out words onto parchment. A bit surprised yourself, she comes to you with the usual afternoon tea. An extra helping of scones was also smuggled out from the Great Kitchen, and this elicited a chuckle from you. You quietly thank your elf friend for the thoughtfulness and promised her you'd be with her soon for another baking session.
She smiles at you shyly, bowing her head in delight and excused herself so she could attend to the other students in the room. You smile back as you watch her go, shaking your head in amusement. You return to your pot of tea, pouring a cup for yourself, blowing over it before taking a sip. Warmth enveloped you instantly as you place the cup back to its saucer. From here on, you pick up your quill from the inkpot to start your writing activity.
