Hogwarts Library, Second Floor
The second floor of the Hogwarts library must be entered from the moving staircases in the main hall. The doors are on either side of the long hall overlooking the grounds above the Charging Boars and to the right of the Great Hall on the First Floor. The second floor of the library is quieter, and usually used for private, quiet study. There are carrels for students who need to write out their essays, and high wingback chairs looking out through the windows (perfectly framed in sunlight) when students need to read.
The second floor of the library is also a balcony floor, and can overlook the ground floor from small two person tables. The second floor does not have fireplaces, but is still warm in winter from the rising heat, and cool in summer from the prop-stand gothic windows, as windows do not open on the floor to ceiling ground floor. The second floor of the library also has reading-for-pleasure books, in contrast in reading-for-research. It's windier on the second floor, but overall quieter.
