You had taken yourself up to the dormitory very early; everyone was still at dinner, and you needed the privacy to write the letter. After all, you were having enough trouble with the owls being intercepted by Filch, you really didn’t need the girls in the dorm to become suspicious, too.
‘Dear ... Sirius,’ you began, mumbling the words as you wrote them, then stopped. You scribbled through it.
Dear Snuffles,
Ministry has sent spy; takes form of evil frog lady calling herself Umbridge. Knows about my mother. Insufferable as she is, don’t think working for YKW. Harry biting our heads off, but all missing you. Hope to see you for Christmas. Please stay put.
